On the Way to Collect’26

There is always a particular stillness in the studio just before work leaves.

As I prepare to deliver three sculptural porcelain pieces to the Collect Art Fair today, 24 February 2026, I find myself reflecting on how this series has evolved and where it is leading next.

I am exhibiting with Design Nation, presenting new sculptural vessels that continue my exploration of coexistence and contrast through structure and flow.

The shift became more defined in a piece titled "The Breath," a turning point in my continued exploration of interior presence and exterior structure. These ideas have long shaped my practice, yet with each piece, as I search for a more precise language, the forms evolve. In The Breath, the tension became more contained, quieter, but no less charged beneath the surface.

From that piece, Veiled Echoes I and II emerged.

These are currently on view in Beneath the Surface: Material and Meaning at the Design Nation Hub in Sleaford, on until 16 March.

It is meaningful to have this series exhibited there while presenting its evolution at Collect. The conversation between the pieces continues, one stage holding its ground, another opening into new territory.

A few images on my journey to exhibiting at Collect:

A small band marks an important moment

The pieces at Collect are in conversation with one another, each with a different size, form, and surface. I use gold leaf on porcelain not as an embellishment, but to signify the universal energy that runs through the forms. Seeing them together, it is a continuation of the ideas I have been exploring.

You can explore the wider Sculptural Vessels series.

Many thanks to Design Nation for their visit. You can see the video here.
