Veiled Echoes-1. Ceramic Figurative Wall Art

£1,985.00

This piece consists of two porcelain body casts layered on top of each other. Each cast is made from my body and worked separately. The upper cast is built from individually rolled strips of porcelain, layered the same way as my sculptural vessels, then hand-carved and worked to create a seamless flow. The openings let the gaze pass through, so the layers beneath remain visible. I fired both pieces at 1250°C in oxidation to achieve the final form.

The lower cast is hand-painted with red enamel, and the top layer is embellished with hand-painted gold enamel along the edges of some curvaceous lines.

The piece is placed on a charcoal-coloured wood backing. It hangs like a painting.
