Sculptural Vessel - Black & White

I handcrafted this black-and-white porcelain sculptural vessel from a thrown white porcelain base, layering hand-rolled black porcelain strips and carving the form to create flowing, organic lines. Once fully formed, the piece was fired at 1240°C. After firing, I applied 23-carat gold leaf to the inner base and hand-painted the edges of the black strips with white enamel. Openings within the form create a dynamic interplay between surface and interior space, where light and shadow move freely. This vessel reflects my ongoing exploration of movement, energy, and the quiet relationship between inside and outside — forms shaped as much by what is held within as by what is seen.

Thrown and hand-formed porcelain, fired at 1240°C, finished with a transparent glaze, enamel, and 23-carat gold leaf.
