Triptych- II is made of three porcelain slabs, each about 40 cm square. I begin each one with a random line or a few brushed marks. From there I shape small, scale-like pieces of porcelain, my tesserae, by hand, each one different in size, texture and form: some broad and smooth, others narrow, curled or finely edged. I place them one by one, overlapping and turning them so they gather into currents across the surface, letting intuition and the tesserae themselves guide its flow.

When the surface work is complete, I deliberately stress the slabs during firing, so that sharp cracks open across them and become part of that flow. Through the cracks, a thin line of deep blue shows through.

I then hand-paint gold enamel along the edges of the tesserae, bringing a settled shimmer to the white. Finally, the porcelain slabs are raised and set in a white box frame, ready to hang.

All pieces must be returned in their original condition and packaging. Once received, refunds will be processed.
